Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Delhi – ShimlaUpon your arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to one of the most visited tourist destinations in India – Shimla. After covering a journey of 9 hours you will be immediately checked in to your hotel for an overnight stay. The remaining of the evening is free for doing your leisure activities.
Day 02: Shimla – Kufri (Excursion)
Today, you will be taken on a city-wide excursion of Shimla which will cover sites like, Kalbadevi mandir – which is dedicated to goddess Kalbadevi; Jakhu temple – dedicated to Lord Hanuman and Christ church – the second oldest church in northern India.
Later you will then be taken for an excursion at the neighboring town of Kufri – which is 30 mines. Drive from the main town of Shimla. You will then be taken to Fagu Indira Gandhi holiday home where you can enjoy a fun horse riding experience among the vast expanse of apple orchids. You are also free to explore the nearby colorful market places.
After a day of fun and admiring the natural beauty you will then be taken back to your allotted hotel in Shimla for the night.
Day 03: Shimla – Kullu – Manali
Early in the morning, you travel for Manali will start, which will be a 8 hours journey. En route, after 5 hours and 30 mines, you will be made to stop and admire the charm of Kullu. Kullu, also known as the 'Valley of Gods', is a beautiful district in the state of Himachal Pradesh. After enjoying and taking pictures of some of the most scenic places in Kullu like Dussehra Maidan and Beas River, you will be headed on towards Manali, where you will be duly Cheeked in to your allotted hotel and spend the night there.
Day 04: Manali – Rohtang Pass
Early in the morning, you will made to proceed for a day excursion to Rohtang pass (Pir Panjal Himalayas) – a snow-clad mountain pass that remains covered by snow throughout the year. In case due to certain reasons, the pass is closed off, you will be taken to snow point, which is equally fun and quirky. Here you will be able to enjoy activities like, paragliding, horse riding etc. (all this will be done on the basis of direct payment).
You will then be taken back to Manali from where you will be free to explore this town on your own in the evening. Be sure to buy some whimsical and unique souvenirs from here like, woolen apparels, hand-woven carpets, rugs, traditional jewellery and so much more. You will be spending the night in Manali.
Day 05: Manali – Dharamshala
Today early in the morning you will be made to proceed towards the scenic hill town of Dharamshala which will be a journey of 8 hours approx. Upon your arrival and after getting checked in to your hotel you will be free to do your leisurely activities.
Shop for local souvenir items like, woolen apparels, locally produced wooden artifacts, special local paintings called Thangkas, Dorjes (puja ritual object), Kullu shawls, Tibetan rugs and so much more. Along with mesmerizing landscapes, food here is also delectable. You can try out some locally made cuisines like, Tibetan momos, thukpa, Lang Phing (turmeric flavored pancake), Bulgogi, Belgian waffles and Mani more.
Day 06: Dharamshala Local Sightseeing – Dalhousie
Today you will proceed for an excursion of Mcleodganj – a suburb of Dharamshala which is also known as ‘little Tibet’ and home to the Dalai Lama. It is located at a distance of just half an hour from the main town of Dharamshala. Here you will explore top local attractions in Dharamshala. Bhagsu temple and waterfall – An important place of worship for people belonging to Hindu as well as Gorkha communities; One can also take a dip in the water to cool off and freshen up; your next stop will be Kareri Lake – a freshwater high altitude, crystal clear lake; Naddi viewpoint – from where you can admire the surrounding snowcapped peaks, a thrill for every photographer and nature lover.
Later after this, you will be taken to Dalhousie, which is at a distance of 4 hours. You will be immediately checked in to your hotel where you will be spending the night.
Day 07: Dalhousie – Khajjiar (Excursion)
Early in the morning, you will be taken to Khajjiar, which is located at a distance of 1 hour and is also known as the mini Switzerland of Himachal which is nestled at the foothills of Dhauladhar ranges and amongst the thick covering of pine and deodar forests. Here you will visit Kalatop Khajjiar sanctuary – this picturesque animal sanctuary is located on the path of River Ravi, and is surrounded by coniferous and oak tree forest. After a refreshing visit here, next you will proceed towards Chamba, a quaint hilly hamlet known for its medieval temples and breathtaking views.
You will finally be made to proceed back to Dalhousie where you will be spending the night.
Day 08: Dalhousie – Amritsar
Have breakfast and embark on the local sightseeing tour of Dalhousie. You will be visiting tourist spots like Dainkund Peak, St.John’s Church, Chamera Lake, Panchpula, Subhash Baoli and Satdhara Falls and more other tourist attraction in Dalhousie. Later you will proceed towards Amritsar, which will be a journey of 5 hours. You will be made to be a part of the procedures that take place in the Wagah border, after which you will be duly checked in to your hotel for staying the night.
Day 09: Amritsar City Tour – Chandigarh
After having your breakfast, will start your visit with the sacred Golden Temple – one of the most vital Sikh Shrines in India. You will also be taken to Harmandir Sahib and Darbar Sahib which are two of the other most important shrines in Amritsar. You will then be made to visit Jallianwala Bagh – one of the most heart-wrenching places any Indian can ever experience in their lifetime. Later you will drive to Chandigarh, which is located at a distance of 4 hours approx. Upon arrival, you will be checked in to your hotel here for staying the night.
Day 10: Chandigarh City Tour – Delhi (Departure)
Early in the morning, you will be taken to visit some of the local attractions in Chandigarh, like Sukhna Lake – where you can go for boating and enjoy the calming views; Rock garden will be your next destination – where the entire area is dotted with unique rock sculpture. After a brief sightseeing of the city you will be driven to Delhi, which is located at a distance of 5 hours approx. You will then be made to board the train heading towards your onward destination.
